He spent another 6 years training in Orthopaedic Surgery around London gaining the FRCS(Tr&Orth) and has been on the General Medical Council's (GMC) Specialist Register since 2012.

As part of his training he developed a specialist interest in Foot and Ankle disorders, and gained further experience under Mr. Peter Rosenfeld at Imperial College NHS Trust. He then completed a 9-month fellowship under Mr. James Calder and Mr. Lloyd Williams at the Fortius Clinic and the Princess Grace Hospital, which included the management of foot and ankle problems in professional athletes, footballers and dancers and gained experience in arthroscopic (keyhole) and minimally-invasive foot and ankle surgery. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS).

Dr.Eleftheriou has published numerous research articles, presented at international conferences and is a reviewer for international journals.

His areas of expertise include:

  • The diagnosis and management of general orthopaedic conditions and fractures
  • Diagnosis and treatment of all foot and ankle conditions including:
  • Management of foot and ankle sport injuries
  • Surgical management of the Diabetic and Rheumatoid Foot
  • Management of foot and ankle osteoarthritis including arthroscopic fusion surgery and ankle replacement
  • Treatment of bunions and other foot deformities including the use of minimally invasive surgery

Dr. Eleftheriou believes in providing patients with adequate information about their condition and allowing them to make an informed decision together with him about how to best manage their problem.
