The Hippocrateon Private Hospital was founded in 1987 by Doctors V. Makris, O. Athanatos and Chr. Riris, and since its establishment, it has played a leading role in the field of private healthcare. It is located in the centre of Engomi (Nicosia), in a quiet area. The hospital is renowned for its high standards in all aspects of healthcare, patient-centric philosophy, and personalised patient care and service.
The hospital is well equipped with state-of-the-art and advanced medical equipment, and staffed with fully qualified medical and paramedical staff that meet the standards and quality requirements of the healthcare industry.

There are more than 70 doctors, 21 of whom are shareholders and the rest are internal and external partners, providing the best standard of medical care. There are also around 100 trained and qualified staff and the hospital provides 38 modern, en-suite, single and double private rooms.
Within the hospital, there are four fully equipped and state-of-the-art operating rooms, comprehensive clinical Hematology, Biochemistry and Microbiology laboratories, as well as a modern Oncology/Immunology Center with a fully accredited chemotherapy laboratory. The Hippocrateon Private Hospital’s specialist departments include Radiology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery and Pathology and Endoscopy.
A fully equipped and manned First Aid and Emergency Department, as well as the Intensive Care Unit, will soon be operational on a 24-hour basis. In addition, our hospital provides two fully equipped fleet of ambulances to serve the needs of the patients.
The Hippocrateon Private Hospital is the first Medical Center in Cyprus that introduced and implemented the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System since 2008. This system, which is considered to be the most advanced surgical technology, has been successfully implemented by the Centre's specially trained surgery teams for over 1,500 surgeries in the fields of urology, general surgery, thoracic surgery and gynecology.
The Hippocrateon Private Hospital is also an academic medical centre and considered a pioneer in the field of higher education. We work in close partnership with higher education institutions to train medical and nursing students.
